A- Already There/ Casting Crowns

I first heard of this band when they came out with their album, Casting Crowns. I have bought several of their albums over the years.

Recently, I have been having a lot of dissatisfaction with my job and have began on a job search. Jennifer, told me about a way of prayer she learned from a friend. To pray as if God has given you what you are asking for, not for God to provide for what you are asking for.

It reminded me of this song. It talks about our perspective and God’s perspective regarding our future.

In listening to this song again, I was struck by these opening lines,

“From where I'm standing Lord it's so hard for me to see Where this is going And where You're leading me I wish I knew how All my fears and all my questions Are gonna play out In a world I can't control”

These lines express perfectly what I have been thinking over the last several months regarding my job and my life direction.

It is comforting to be reminded of as the song goes on to say, that to God my future is a memory. God is outside of time and sees the future. He knows what is my next job, but beyond that he knows how the pieces of my life will turn out. It will turn out to be a beautiful masterpiece that I couldn’t imagine on my own.

What would it mean for you to change your perspective in prayer and life in general?

God already knows our future, he just wants us to turn over each step of our lives over to him. To simply trust him and to take another step of faith every day of our lives until the day He calls us home.
