A-Ants Marching by Dave Matthews Band

I was introduced to Dave Matthews Band by my brother who become a fan of the group in high school. Then I started enjoying the group a little bit more during a mission trip in Brazil where we played their music in the car we traveled in.

To listen to this song is to listen to a song about not taking chances all your life to just die one day, not taking chances in life. I have realized that in taking chances, I have come truly alive. Chances like preaching in various countries like Kenya, Brazil, Uganda, and my college was nerve-wrecking because I wasn’t a trained preacher by any imagination. But in the same way, I have not made chances in life too. Chances like not getting to know certain people because I wasn’t outgoing, chances like not asking for help when I needed it the most.

I am only learning now that in taking calculated, sometimes reckless chances, I can truly come alive.

Even me writing these thoughts is a calculated chance. I don’t what the end result will be of my writing. All I know, is that for the first time in a long while, I am truly alive.

What chances will you take today? Who knows that in your taking chances, you may change someone’s life forever!!
