C-Come Alive-The Greatest Showman Film Cast

Much of America has fallen in love with the film, The Greatest Showman, released in 2017. (Count me as a fan, especially the music!!)I think it is because we all relate to being underdogs at some level, being forgotten, mistreated, or looked down upon.

I bought the soundtrack for Jennifer for a present last year. The song that caught my attention was the song “Come Alive”. I thought it may relate in some way to the kingdom of God and our place in it.

However, as I listen to the song now, I see it relating to me in new ways. The opening lines in the song talk about being stumbling through your days, not knowing you can change your perspective on life.

I relate to that as those were my feelings before I started this project. I was depressed and upset with my job, not knowing that I could change my perspective on life.

The chorus also speaks in new ways to me, “Come alive, come alive Go and light your light Let it burn so bright Reaching up To the sky And it's open wide You're electrified”

I am coming alive in recent days in starting this project. I am seeing I can make a difference in the world from my seat here in Edgewood, MD, just from sharing my thoughts on songs that have impacted me. Many of you have told me that you like my thoughts, and it has encouraged me to continue on with this project.

But all of this came about, because I as the song goes on to say, was willing to “dream with my eyes wide open”, and see how I can be more of a leader in my day to day life.

I am seeing that part of coming alive is leaving our fears behind and giving over control of our lives to God. However, it also begins with a conscious decision to change our perspective on life and use our gifts, talents and abilities ( your light) to impact the world around us.

Friends, come alive today! Leave behind your fears and give control of your life to God! Change your perspective and light your light, letting it burn so bright, to point people to the true light, Jesus Christ!
