Certain songs have a strong emotional impact from a certain time in your life. You can remember where you are when it had its impact on you. But then the impact transforms into something different than what it meant to you during that time.

Such as the case with this song.The song, according to Jason Wade, lead singer of Lifehouse, can be about God and human love. I have always interpreted it about being about God.

My memorable experience with this song is being at our Sr. Pastor’s house for a young adult prayer time. We had a time in which we could have uninterrupted time alone with God, and I listened to this song during that time.

I think I sang the chorus with no one in sight around me: “You are the strength that keeps me walking You are the hope that keeps me trusting You are the light to my soul You are my purpose You're everything”

Jesus is everything to me, even more than my life. He is the one that sustains me in the difficult seasons of life. The one that gives me joy in the greatest of seasons. He has given me purpose and meaning when I couldn’t find any.

But other lyrics stand out to me in this current season of life: “How can I stand here with you And not be moved by you? Would you tell me how could it be Any better than this?

When I think about the events of last two years, I can’t help but stand in humble worship before my God. I met Jennifer online when I was here in Maryland and she in Ecuador. Our relationship blossomed, we were matched on eharmony in April 2017, started dating in July 2017, and were married last April. Before our son Joseph was born, we almost lost him early on in the pregnancy. However, that little boy survived, and he has been a fighter ever since then!

Only God could have orchestrated this series of events in my life. I am convinced it is for his purposes and his glory! It cannot get any better than having my wife and son in my life, as we join in grateful worship before our Creator! May our lives be a living testimony of his abounding love and grace.

Will Jesus be your everything? Will you rely on him in the good and the bad?

Allow him to sustain you in this time, and your life will be transformed. I am living proof of this fact.

Now all I want is to point the world to my everything, My Savior. Will you join me?
