F-Faithful -Steven Curtis Chapman

This song, just as Beauty will Rise, is on Steven Curtis Chapman’s album of the same name. Yet this song holds a special place in my heart.

This song has helped me to see in times of brokenness and heartache, that I can hold on to the faithfulness of God. It reminds me of quote I once heard in a sermon from my church, “God is good even when I am not in a place to receive that truth.”

There has been many events in my life that I have questioned God. I have wondered why he has allowed certain doors to be closed, allowed things to happen in my life that caused heartache. Yet despite all of that, I have never not seen the hand of God upon my life.

Through good and bad, God has been faithful. He has given and taken away, but I am convinced that part of the heart of God is rooted in his faithfulness.

Chapman says about the faithfulness of God

“I will proclaim it to the world.

I will declare it to my heart

And sing it when the sun is shining.

I will scream it in the dark.”

Maybe, just maybe God allows the difficulties of my life for me to proclaim his hand in my life to the world even when I cannot see it. I can proclaim the truth of his faithfulness through the good and bad of my life.

I don’t know if you are in a good season, or a bad season in your life.

If you are in a good season, proclaim the goodness of God to the world so that people may see Him in you through your story.

If you are in a bad season, know that God is faithful even when you cannot see his hand. He will sustain you and comfort you in such a way you will see Him as the good, loving Father. Once He sustains you, tell the story of your brokenness to others, so that others, in their brokenness, see the faithfulness of God in their lives too.

God is so faithful to us beyond what we can comprehend or imagine.
