G-Glorious Unfolding-Steven Curtis Chapman

I have felt during different times throughout my life that my life wasn’t turning out the way I wanted it to. Whether that be a girl saying no to a relationship with me, or doors being closed to work with a mission organization. It is during such times, I have not seen God’s bigger picture in my story and His bigger story.

This is why such a song such as Glorious Unfolding speaks to my heart in such profound ways. It has encouraged me to “wait and see” for God’s glorious unfolding “in my life, and “hold on to every promise God has made” to me in his word.

However, Chapman does more than just encourage me to wait and see God’s glorious unfolding in my life, but to see what God’s plan was since creation.

“God’s plan from the start

For this world and your heart

Has been to show His glory and His grace

Forever revealing the depth and the beauty of

His unfailing Love

And the story has only begun”

God wants you and me to see the bigger picture. Through the living out of our lives, God wants to show his glory and his grace revealed through his love to each one of us. We just need to open up our hearts to be open to God’s work in us to changing us day by day into his likeness.

When hard times happen in my life, sometimes I don’t want to see God’s bigger picture. I want to see and wallow in my pain. When I speak to God in my pain, God reveals himself to me and to wait and see for his glorious unfolding.

I waited on God and he gave me a beautiful wife and son in his perfect time. Still waiting on God to open doors to serve internationally, but know He will open them in his time.

I don’t know what hard times you are going through, but I encourage you to wait and see for God’s glorious unfolding” in your life. Continue to love him, serve and obey him. In your waiting, God will make you more into a man/woman after His own heart.

Also know that you were not made for this earth.

Chapman sings,

“We were made to run through fields of forever

Singing songs to our Savior and King

So let us remember this life we’re living

Is just the beginning of the beginning”

This world is not our final resting place. We are not home yet.

I am convinced that there will be several “unfoldings” as we wait for Him for different things. Until the day of the ultimate unfolding, let us see God’s glory and grace in our day to living lives. Let us be amazed as unfoldings happen in our lives, and tell of His work to the world.
