This song expresses the journey of life God has brought me through during the past two years.

The opening line of the song is

“There's beauty in my brokenness

I've got true love instead of pain

There's freedom, though You've captured me

I've got joy instead of mourning”

I remember when I couldn’t find beauty in my brokenness, and I all I could see was pain, not true love. Then I met my wife and everything changed. I saw God bringing beauty out of brokenness.

God brought romantic love into my life, but importantly, I was overwhelmed by his love and his goodness in my life. He captured my heart again as I saw God as the good Father who gives good and perfect gifts to his children ( James 1:17). If I take the time to look at all the blessings in my life and choose to rejoice in God, I can find joy in everyday moments.

The song later says:

“Oh, I've never been so free caught in Your love for me

Never been more secure knowing Your heart, Lord

Never been so free caught in Your love for me”

I am still in the process of living out the truth of these above lyrics. I want to be free, caught in the Father’s love for me. However, too often I caught up with the worries of this world, such as making enough money for my family, being of significance and value to my work, among many other things.

When I realize my identity is not of the above and being God’s child, I can rest in the Father’s love for me. It is then I can be secure, knowing that his heart is full of love for me, His child.

Is God bringing beauty out of your brokenness? Or you waiting to see it come true in your life? Rest assure, God will being beauty out of your brokenness in His time.

Or you wanting true love instead of pain? Remember true love is not romantic love or even love from a friend, it is resting secure in the Father’s heart of abounding love for you.

Or do you want freedom? Let go of the chains of yesterday. If you need to repent, turn back to Him with a heart full of faith and trust. If you just want to commit more wholeheartedly to Him, you can do that too.

Rest in the gift God has given you called, this moment, and see the Father’s love for you in a way you haven’t done before.

May you and I see that our true worth and value begins when we embrace the Father’s heart of love for us. It is then we can be secure knowing his heart and rest in His love and freedom.
