I'm in a war every minute

I know for sure I'll never win it

I am David up against Goliath

And it's a fight for my attention

I'm being pulled every direction

This world tells me trust what I can see

Lord, won't You help me believe what I believe”

It is so easy to be oblivious to the war that is waging for our souls. We can get so caught up in the pursuit for significance, power, that we forgot this one thing: Satan wants us.  He wants our attention, marriages, but ultimately our hearts.

I am seeing this reality as I see marriages around me being in danger or close to danger. We forgot that even though Satan will lose in the end, he will do anything to disrupt our attention.

'Cause You are bigger than any battle I'm facing

You are better than anything I've been chasing

Savior and royalty, the only hope in me

Jesus, You are, You are

The King of my heart, heart

The King of my heart, heart

When you and I align with Jesus daily and get in the Word, we prepare ourselves for war. We fight for not our our glory, but his glory, for he is the King of our hearts. We need to put on the armor of God in preparing for war.  Read Ephesians 6:10-18 for a full description of the armor we are to put on day by day.

Let us remember the example of King David. David was able to fight Goliath and win, not because of any great ability on his own, but because God was with him and gave him the tools to win.

God has given us the tools to win through His Word, prayer, and His Presence.

As we put on the armor of God every day, may our lives be marked by the acknowledgment that Jesus wants all of us, nothing more nothing less. He is jealous for us and wants our lives to be a reflection of Himself to our families and the world around us.
