I am guilty. We all can be guilty of it. What are we guilty of ?

Seeking after the answers, instead of God, in times of trouble or needing direction in our lives.

I know, for me, in my current job search, I often seek after God for the perfect job, instead of Him.Then I am reminded that God cares far more for me and what kind of person I am becoming than the perfect job for me.

If God gave me the perfect job and I was a miserable person, it wouldn’t matter much. God wants me to love, listen and obey Him more than anything else in this life.

“ You are everything I want

Lord You're everything I need

I want this to be my one consuming passion

Everything my heart desires

Lord, I want it all to be for You

Jesus, be my magnificent obsession

My magnificent obsession”

God wants you and I to come to the place of surrender in which He becomes our everything. We often view an obsession as a bad thing, and obsession often take us away from the people we care about the most. However, when Jesus becomes the one thing we desire above all else, we grow closer to God and His heart .

The answers you and I are wanting, will come in God’s time. They may not come to us for 40 years or not in our lifetimes.

Regardless, if we are seeking after God, we will fill the God-shaped hole in our hearts that only God can fill.

So whatever we are seeking for, whether it be a job or just clarity, let us toss it to the ground. May we put all our hopes and dreams into seeking after him.

Perhaps he can transform our hopes and dreams into His hopes and dreams for us and our lives. It is only then the Potter ( God) can mold us and shape us as clay into what He wants us to be and become.
