“Long before you drew your first breath
A dream was coming true
God wanted to give a gift to the world
So he wrapped it up in you
Every step that you've taken
Every move that you make
Is part of his plan”
From the very first moments of our existence, we want to know if we have purpose and significance. It is like a God-given desire that is wired into our DNA.
I know there have been many times throughout my life, that I have questioned if I have purpose and significance.
However, I am learning that my purpose has nothing to do with me. It is all about God’s purpose and how do I fit into it.
God’s overall purpose is for us to have a loving relationship with him at the end of our lives( Peter Scazzero). He wants a loving relationship with us.
Our stories are apart of His bigger story and He wants to use every success, every failure of our lives for His glory and His purpose.
“You were meant to be touching
The lives that you touch
And meant to be here
Making this world so much more
Than it would be without you in it
You were meant to be bringing
The gifts that you bring
And singing the songs
You've been given to sing
You are perfectly, wonderfully,
Beautifully meant to be
You were meant to be”
You and I are meant to be. Our lives were crafted by the Creator to touch lives everyday with our gifts, talents, and abilities. So discover those gifts, talents, and use them to bring closer to Jesus.
I am just learning and discovering what my gifts and abilities. For example, I love to write and inspire people. So I’m writing, and in the process in helps me to see that God is using me to bring people closer to Jesus.
You may be asking yourself, “How can I use my gifts and abilities for God? What is the best way I can serve?
Frederick Buechner said, “The place where God calls you is where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet.”
What makes you happy and excited to get up in the morning? What energizes you? Ask yourself these questions and then discover how they may be used to meet the world’s deep hunger.
This world is longing for people of depth, character, vulnerability, but most importantly, people who will bring hope to them. So be a hope-bearer today-use your gifts, talents and abilities to advance God’s Name among the world.
