“To all the travelers
Pilgrims longing for a home
From one who walks with you
On this journey called life's road
It is a long and winding road
From one who's seen the view
And dreamt of staying on the mountains high
And one who's cried like you
Wanting so much to lay down and die”
In this journey called life, we face joys, struggles, and disappointments. However, we do not walk this road alone. Jesus walks with us each step of the way.
I don’t know where I would be without the presence of Jesus in my life’s journey. His comforting presence, his encouraging words, have been be the source of life to sustain me and build me back up again.
I can take comfort in that Jesus walked this road called life just as I am doing now. He had mountain top experiences, but also had struggles and disappointments. However, he was determined to live out the mission His Father had given him: to die so that whoever chooses to believe in Him may find life in His Name.
“We are not home yet
We are not home yet
Keep on looking ahead
Let you heart not forget
We are not home yet
Not home yet
So close your eyes with me
And hear the Father saying, welcome home
Let us find the strength
In all His promises to carry on
He said, I go prepare a place for you
So let us not forget
You and I can take comfort and encouragement that this world is not our final destination. If we believe in Jesus, we can take hold of that very fact. Heaven is our final destination.
One day, our pain and struggles will be the gateway to our entrance into the presence of God. I look forward to that day, as the tears and pain I have experienced in this life will be no more. I will bask in the light of my Savior forevermore.
“I know there'll be a moment
I know there'll be a place
Where we will see our Savior
And fall in His embrace
So let us not grow weary
Or too content to stay
'Cause we are not home yet”
Until the day we see Jesus face to face, we must hold on to Jesus for life in the joys and struggles. We must take hold on his promises, that this world is not our home.
So I urge you friends, to see Jesus in a brand new way. He is not some distant figure, waiting for you in Heaven. He is with you and besides you, your own personal cheerleader. But more than that, He is your comforter and sustainer until the day He calls you Home.
