Oceans- Hillsong United

"You call me out upon the waters The great unknown where feet may fail  And there I find you in the mystery  In oceans deep my faith will stand” There have been many unknowns in my life through the last two years. Unknowns like marriage. Fatherhood. Leading a mission trip. Writing a blog.  It all has tested me and my faith. I am asking questions of myself that I never asked  of myself previously. Where is my motivation? Am I taking care of my family out of love or obligation? Am I writing out of love for God and His people or just to check a item off the list? I am finding as I wrestle with these questions a deep mystery. The mystery of God being found in the everyday moments of life as I seek to grow deeper in him every day.  “Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders  Let me walk upon the waters  Wherever you would call me Take me deeper that my feet could ever wander  And my faith will be made stronger in the presence of my Savior” I don’t know what unknowns you are facing in life. It may be something great like a child being born or something Terrible like the death of a loved one. 

However, one thing I know for certain is that God calls us to a deeper trust as we walk through the oceans of life with him. May the cry of our hearts be, “ God lead me to a place where my faith is without limits. To trust you even when you don’t know make sense. When I think I know what you are up to- surprise me. “ May we serve him and love him in the oceans of life- knowing we have a God who isn’t distant- but loving and caring-walking through the waters with us.
