"I raise a hallelujah, in the presence of my enemies

I raise a hallelujah, louder than the unbelief

I raise a hallelujah, my weapon is a melody

I raise a hallelujah, Heaven comes to fight for me."

There is something powerful about calling upon God's name in the midst of trial and struggle. It is as if this very act of praising God proclaims victory over the enemies in our life. We don't face enemies often of flesh and blood, but of spiritual forces of Satan that see to cripple us from the inside out. Depression. Anxiety. Fear. Death. We must make a concise decision every day to praise God in the middle of our storms. Reminding our hearts who the true victor truly is. Jesus.

"I raise a hallelujah, with everything inside of me

I raise a hallelujah, I will watch the darkness flee

I raise a hallelujah, in the middle of the mystery

I raise a hallelujah, fear you lost your hold on me"

Hallelujah simply means in Hebrew to "praise the Lord". I have faced depression and anxiety most of my life, and sometimes I have not wanted to "raise a hallelujah" to my God. But when I have raised one with everything inside of me, I give Jesus the victory over these crippling enemies. I chose not to let them wound me and label me ineffective for God's kingdom.

So I raise a hallelujah when every time the darkness seems to creep in. It is then the light creeps in, and gives hope to this weary soul. I am able to use my praise as melody against the forces of evil in my life.

I don't know what your enemies are, friends. But today could be the moment for you not to let Satan have a foot hood in your life any longer. Jesus has great plans for you, plans to stretch and use you beyond your wildest imagination. But it all begins by dedicating your life to Him as a "living Hallelujah".

It is only then, we can face our enemies without fear as we live a life of praise before our Creator God.
