"Excuse me, I couldn't help but notice That heartsick look in your eyes You hide it very well, but I've got the same disguise I know from all you see around you You feel worth a very small price So plain and ordinary, but there's a pearl inside"
I believe that the truths God has put in my heart to share to you are is just as much for me as for you. It is so easy for me to doubt myself, and to think myself as plain and ordinary, not having much to bring to the world around me. This is the voice of the devil who tries to creep into my head with his fist full of lies.
However, if I still enough, I can hear the voice of God saying, "My love for you is not based on your performance, but found in my heart of unconditional acceptance for you. You are accepted. You are loved. You are more than enough. "
I know I am not the only one to feel this way. I know that you, or others in your life, sometimes doubt their place in God's story. We often want to know how our stories are going to turn out, instead of trusting in the hand of the One who loves us and accepts us with our flaws and imperfections. He is the God of your story, just as He is the God of my story.
"You are a treasure Worth more than anything under the sun or the moon God's greatest treasure Is the treasure of you"
God's greatest treasure is the treasure of me. On my best days, I believe that more than ever. On my worst, I have trouble believing in that very fact. But God wants me to value myself just as He values me. If I begin on this journey, I will find that God's grace is abundant and plentiful to cover all my mistakes and faults. He treasures me, he loves me, more than anyone else in this world. More than my wife. More than my mom. More than than anyone who has ever know Michael Moore.
God's greatest treasure is also the treasure of you, friend. He loves you. He accepts you. His heart is full of compassion and grace for you, and he values you as one of his precious children.
So, friend, rest in your identity as a treasure of the most High God and live like it every day of your life. It is only once we do that, the world will see in us a abounding sense of purpose and adventure that only comes from Jesus.
