"No more fake personas No more false perceptions All you ever wanted was me With childlike eyes of wonder And a heart that's undivided I'm beginning to see You"

In many moments of my Christian walk, I have wondered if the gospel was as true as it claimed to be. I would of told you that I believed it was true, but it was hard for me to believe that all God wanted was me and not pretensions.

Part of this was grounded in my low-self-esteem and struggling to find my true identity. It was easy to get caught up in the act of appearing good- and thinking that was what God wanted of me.

It is only after 22 years of walking with Jesus, that I am finding that Jesus just wants me and nothing else. He wants me to see him with the eyes of a child and a heart that is totally devoted (undivided) to Himself.

I believe children have a certain delight and wonder in life that we miss out on as we grow up. My son Joseph has a smile and a laugh at books, stuffed animals, cars, things we see as common place. I believe that God wants us to see him in that way. Seeing him with new and fresh eyes every day of our lives as if we are meeting Him for the very first time.

In the Old Testament, the heart was seen as the core of a person's being, what made them human and made them come alive. Is God the one we delight in? Does he make us come alive? He wants all of us- our minds, bodies, and hearts- everything that makes us.

"Now I see you everywhere 'Cos you are everywhere Winter, spring, bitter, sweet You're here with me"

Seeing God with fresh eyes is seeing God in every season of the lives we live. In the questioning of our faith. In our doubts and questions, God is still there. He is still with us. With the birth of a child or grandchild, he is there in our joy. When all our hopes and dreams come crashing down with a miscarriage or the loss of a loved one, He is still there.

In our lives, we need to take the time to rejoice in the Lord in every season of our lives. He is good. He is faithful. He is not the God of our circumstances, but the God of all creation. The God of every story. If only we take the time to embrace every moment of our stories, we will encounter God with fresh eyes. It is only then our hearts will be undivided in worship as we live a life of surrender before Him every day, every hour, of our existence.
