I’m gonna walk with my grandaddy

And he'll match me step for step

And I'll tell him how I missed him

Every minute since he left

And then I'll hug his neck”

My grandfather was a man who touched many lives on his time on earth. He had bunches of roses that he gave to people in the community. He loved his grandchildren fiercely, going on trips with them, and visiting them wherever they lived.

He was not a perfect man, as he had his share of faults. He sometimes had a quick temper, and didn’t always share his love for his family in great ways. Yet as he grew older, he grew in his walk with God and sought to be more like Jesus.

He died way too soon at the age of 64. I didn’t truly get to hear his life wisdom from him because I was too young. His life wisdom and lessons was lived on in my mom. This wisdom and lessons have shaped me and formed me into the man I am today.

I look forward to heaven, not just because of Jesus, but because I will get to share life with those who have impacted me. I look forward to seeing my grandfather once again, knowing that time will never separate us again.

Friends, you probably had loved ones or friends that were gone too soon. Your life with them was cut short this side of heaven. You look forward to the day you will see them again.

Until that day, I urge you to carry within you the wisdom they shared to you. Share it to everyone you know. From that wisdom, may people see within you a heart that longs to be closer to Jesus.

Until we get where we are going, may our lives point others to Jesus as others did for us. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yYHT-TF4KO4
