“I will rest in your promises

My confidence is your faithfulness”

I have a restless and anxious heart. It is hard for me to truly rest when I turn away from the source of life, Jesus. I try to turn to things like food and games, things that leave me empty and unsatisfied. The Word of God is right before, if I open eyes and see his promises before me.

Promises like exodus 14:14: “The Lord will fight for you, you only need to be still”. God promises to be with me stand besides me and even fight for me. I only need to rest in him. When I rest in him, I can find my true confidence in his faithfulness to me.

We live in anxious times, friends. Things promising us rest, but only offer more anxiousness in the end. The Word of God is right before us, full of promises, that can give us peace, joy, and confidence.

When we take a step back and see his faithfulness to us throughout our lives, we can move forward in this present moment. We can rejoice in the fact that God has made a way for us in the past and will continue to make a way for us. Our God is a faithful God, now and forevermore.

Let us rest in his promises today and place his confidence in his faithfulness.
